Her nimble fingers tend to aching muscles with a series of clinically precise massage
techniques. The relaxation of massage includes long, flowing strokes that work through tightened muscles, as gentle kneading motions untie shoulders. Therapeutic Massage targets specific areas of soreness and employs deliberate manipulations to alleviate aches and pains.
Contrary to belief, massage therapy isn't just for the rich and famous anymore.
Stress is the number one disorder people suffer from. For most of us, the responsibility of our family life and increased demands at work make us feel tired and worn out. This leaves very little time for us to relax and take care of ourselves.
Mary Jo uses many techniques: Hot Stone Massage, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Essential Oil Treatments, Gentle Pregnancy Massage, just to name a few.
Mary Jo is also a Reiki Master/Teacher. Reiki (ray-kee) means "universal life-force energy." Various techniques can ease emotional distress, mental distress, and acute problems. Practitioners use light hand placements to channel healing energy to the body. Reiki can be a valuable addition to chiropractic and massage therapy, and nurses where the use of touch is essential. She began reiki in 2000.
Mary Jo works in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Cascade/Ada area and continues to enjoy her busy practice of 22 years. She is licensed massage therapist. (LMT)
